The Last of Us is an action-adventure based video game created by Naughty Dog and published by Sony. It was first released on June 14th, 2013 on the PS3, although they later remastered it for the PS4 and now PS5. Throughout the gameplay, you will be playing as Joel as he begins his journey smuggling a special teenager named Ellie through the apocalyptic United States.
During the introduction of the game, you will be playing as Joel's daughter, Sarah, as she realizes the world is falling apart
Players will then be controlling Joel, a smuggler who has to embark on a journey escorting teenager, Ellie, across an apocalyptic United States. Through the players journey, they will realize that clickers, runners, and stalkers aren't the only enemy they'll need to defeat. Joel and Ellie will need to learn how to tolerate each other if they want to defeat the enemies they are bound to come in contact with. Find out why Ellie is so important and how their story will end.
The game is in a third person view, playing as Joel for about 75% of the game. Players are able to use firearms, hand-to-hand combat, other weapons and especially stealth to defend themselves.
Meet Joel, Ellie and many more memorable characters.
The Last of Us writer, Neil Druckmann, had created the video game back in 2013 and around 10 years later, Druckmann partnered up with Craig Mazin to create the HBO series.
The series follows very closely to the video game, even adding parts from the The Last of Us: Left Behind. Left Behind is a separate DLC that shows Ellie and her friend Riley living their "last" moments together before they even know it. It goes from current Ellie, searching a mall for medical supplies to old Ellie, exploring a mall with Riley. In both the show and the game, it contains the conformation of Ellies sexuality.
The show brought an extensive amount of controversy, from the actress, Bella Ramsey, playing Ellie to the relationship between Bill and Frank.
